A
Tribute To A Friend
David
Leong
Aka: Magic8
A true samurai Journalist
KFCC News Editor and Reviewer 2004-2006
David's love for Asian cinema affected all of our
lives on a daily basis. His knowledge of film had
a deep sense of nostalgic appreciation that may never
be rivaled. Day after day he dedicated himself to
giving each and every one of us exactly what it was
that made us happy. His uncanny ability to stick to
his guns and fight for what he believed in is a rare
and celebrated quality in our book. We have suffered
a tragic loss with the passing of David. We hope that
we can all look back and enjoy his amazing work...and
smile. -The KFCC Team
David has passed away, due to natural cause during
the weekend of March 18 2006.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
David Leong had enough passion for his work for the
whole team, and his dedication and love was one of
the prime reasons that KFCC is what it is today. His
uplifting presence will be sorely missed by all.

- We bumped into each other a few years ago, kind
of by mistake in fact. After a few email exchanges,
you decided to join KFCC. Within that moment something
extrodinary happened. Not only did you bring KFCC
to a new level, but we also discovered a great and
passionated man within you. Thank you David, for every
thing you did. Your friendship will be missed.-
Janick
- David will forever be a legendary news editor
in the online Asian cinema communities. He was a true
Samurai Journalist and has completely raised the bar
when it comes to dedication and hard work. I will
miss his presence around here, along with his wonderful
attitude and friendly spirit. So long dai-lo..."

- Via con Dios, Magic8. I didn't know him well,
but I will certainly miss him being around. He was
always really nice to me, and he worked hard to post
all those news stories on the front page. I still
don't know how he did it. There were lots of times
I would find a story that I thought hadn't been posted
here, and lo and behold he had it on the front page.
- Joshua
- You brought Nothing short of Professionalism to
the site while you were here. Not only were you a
good co-worker, but you were a very good friend. Words
Can't explain how much you will be missed here. We
might have lost you in body, but you are forever with
us in spirit. Your love for Asian Cinema will continue
to live on even after you are gone. It was a pleasure
to have worked and gotten to know you David. RIP buddy,
You desereve every bit of it. Forever Your Sidekick

- I express my condolences to David's family and
friends. I'm really sad I did not have the chance
to get to know him better. This is a big loss for
this team... - Dejan
- Well he loved what he was doing and
he got a lot of my respect. I appreciate everything
that he's done and then some. He'll be sorely missed.
- Joseph
