Story: Bill was an investigator for the special crimes unit in Hong Kong till he assaulted his superior. Because of his reckless nature he was demoted to EU (emergency unit) and joined a new team. The team was formed by an interesting group of people, a gun expert, a computer expert, then there was the cop that followed every rule and regulation to the letter and finally an old wise man who always had a story to tell. While on patrol they ran into a gang of violent criminals and several of their fellow policemen were injured. Bill took this personally and vowed to stop the criminals. With some information from the investigation department, they found out this gang was led by a man called the Professor. They follow the trail of clues against the orders from their superiors and finally discover the plan of the criminals and decide to stop them.

Review: This is one of those HK action police movies and an excellent one at that. There are a lot of gun fight and chase scenes, the scenes are at a high action pace. The criminals have no mercy and are armed with the state of the art military equipment. There are more bullets flying in this movie that minutes to the duration of it but it is done in good taste, its not too far from realism.

While people are not shooting each other there was a good storyline to keep you hooked. As for the characters all we can say is that they were incredible, the members of the EU team has a certain chemistry. They had almost a family sense to it. Lau Ching-Wan (the main character) did an excellent performance, his character really had depth. Also he is a natural for the part of a cop, he played one in Expect the Unexpected and in a lot of other police movies. As for the villains they were very well played as well, especially the Professor. He was cold hearted with style he knew how to fight with a gun and with his hands.

The subtitles were very clear on the Universal Laser version but there was the problem of white on white but it was rare. Its a good Hong Kong police action flick, for anyone who likes those kind of movies or is a fan of Lau Ching-Wan you'll enjoy this movie.
