With an evil plan to turn everyone in te world to these
mutated man-beasts, Black Mask has no choice but to
lend his super amazing awesome powers to save the human
race. Go Black Mask, go!
Review: Sometimes films are greeted with
tears of joy at the end credits. Sometimes films are
greeted with tears of sorrow at the end credits. Sometimes
films are greeted with tears of immense displeasure
at the end credits. By the end of "Black Mask
2," you want to pick up a pitchfork and a torch
and gather up a mob to storm the streets, burning
everything in site and flipping every car over. You
want to hang Black Mask himself in effigy are torch
his body because a movie centered around his character
has just gobbled up your precious time (and you'll
never get it back again).
I'm not over-exaggerating when I say this: your
time is better spent trying to stick your own head
up your ass than watching this movie. You'll not only
see a part of yourself that gets minimum sun exposure,
but you'll also discover that you are more flexible
than you once thought! I honestly felt like carving
my eyes out with a rusty spoon halfway through the
film, but I didn't. I didn't do it because I love
the KFCC readers and I knew I had to warn you about
this God-awful film. But I had the spoon in my hands,
ready at any moment to penetrate my eye sockets and
dig out my beautiful pearly Asian eyes out.
Now usually I'm able to find something positive
in a bad film. For "Black Mask 2," I'll
have to say that the last two fight sequences were
pretty cool. Tsui Hark should be "okay"
to have his name attached to the last few minutes.
However, for the rest of the movie, Tsui Hark should
be embarrassed. Sure, there's action scenes in this
movie, but practically all of them contain terrible
CGI and stupid moves. Some people have said some of
the fights were fun. Aside from the last one, I personally
thought they all sucked. If you take the action and
compared it to other Tsui hark film, it sucks. If
you take the action and let the film stand up by itself,
it still sucks.
The characters in this film just aren't interesting!
For example, the sexy doctor that does nothing but
serve as eye-candy is boring! Even in the random scene
where all her clothes come off, I didn't even bother
to catch a glimpse! Like most characters in this movie,
I simply did not care about this doctor! Most of the
cast consist of WCW wrestlers. In the ring, those
WCW wrestlers can sure put on a show. On film it's
a different story. Now, I'm not sure if it was just
the terrible dialogue or if it was just that they
couldn't act, but all the acting in this movie were
painfully bad. The Hong Kong release of this film
got the right idea: re-dub it with big name actors
and turn the unintentional laughable dialogue into
intentional laughable dialogue.
What is going on Mr. Hark?! How can a man with so
much creativity and style make this horrendous film?!
Not even birds passing by would take a crap on this
film! Please, return to your roots and make those
films we all love ever-so-dearly Mr. Hark! I don't
care if you make "Once Upon a Time a China 17:
Wong Fey Hong Meets Mr. Werewolf" or "Legend
of Zu: Sex in Zu Mountain".......but PLEASE make
it up-to-par with your stellar films of the past!

DVD
[ NTSC, Region 1
] :
Great
5.1 sound and a great anamorphic transfer is always
a plus! However, with next to NO special features
(a trailer?! WHOA!), this DVD is definitely not worth
your time. Skulk around and find a DVD with the Chinese
dub (oh yea, and also understand Chinese).
