Story: The leader of a faction of Yakuza working in Hong Kong gets murdered. Fu (Jet Li) an ex Golden Triangle Soldier from mainland China, is desperately poor and takes on work as a hitman in Hong Kong, he hears about the prize and try to see the people offering it. There he meets a shady character that helps him get inside, in return he asks to be his agent for a cut of the prize money. These two soon become friends and try to solve the murder, they discover that the murder was done by someone known as the Killing Angel who excepts no money for the people he kills. They eventually get into trouble with the grandson of the Yakuza leader that is trying to find the Killing Angel and to claim the money. Now they must fight for their lives and found who is the Killing Angel.

Review: This is one of Jet li's best action movies, not for the reason of his fighting but for the general story and what happens during the movie. The story is really good its far more complicated than the usual good guys trying to kill the bad guys. There are many twists to the story and their is no good side or bad side, everyone has their reason for doing what they are doing. There is some good surprises in the story things that you would never expect. There is also a little humor in the film not much just a little to keep you smiling.

The characters are quite interesting, the main characters in the movie are well developed in their backgrounds so you get a better understanding for their reasons to get involved in the plot. Jet li and Eric Tsang make an excellent duo because its a very unlikely friendship but during the course of the story it becomes really believable. As for the supporting characters there isn't as much background but they are all unique and interesting.

There isn't that much in the way of action during the movie but the action that you do see is very good. Especially the final scene where there is a big fight 3 on 3, the fight is very well done and is by far the best of the entire movie.

The Subtitles in the Mei Ah version are ok but the problem of white letter on white background comes up all too often. But you wont miss too much in story as the important text is clear. If you looking for a movie where Jet Li does his intense Kung Fu, this is not the film for you because the fighting is kept pretty simple but if your looking for a good story then you'll really enjoy this film.
