Story: A movie theater in Hong Kong is showing its last movie on new years eve before closing. Everything seems ordinary until Yiu Yiu disappear in the empty movie theater. Yang Yang goes to look for his girlfriend and find her severed head that is possessed by some spirit. After fighting off the possessed flying head of Yiu Yiu, the theater staff encounters other monsters along the way. They try to escape the movie theater but are trapped, they have no choice but to fight off the monsters to survive.

Review: After the first 15 minutes you will realize that this movie is not serious, with all the cheesy special effects accompanied by a cheesy storyline. This is not a serious horror movie, you can even call it a comedy. In our opinion this is a fun movie to laugh about all the silly stuff that go on. Another thing we noticed that there are certain scenes that seem to be tributes to other movies like Evil Dead, Troublesome Night, Demons, Trainspotting and Ghostbusters. The story is really basic if you can even call it a story.

The characters are all very funny in this movie, considering that there is no real storyline there is no development of the characters. Its not the kind of movie for deep and inspired characters. None the less they keep you entertained during the movie with mostly slapstick comedy. The story is basically a context for the gruesome and cheesy deaths of the characters. So don't wait for any deep emotions at the death of your favorite character other than laughing out loud.

The special effects and action scenes are extremely low budget, but it really does not matter. The low budget look adds more to this film than it takes away. Its the kinds of movie were the people got together to have fun rather than make a movie, this could be felt while watching this movie. Don't go looking for errors in any of the special effects as you will find a truck load, its almost homemade. Just sit back and have fun.

The subtitles were of excellent quality and there was not too much dialog. There is not too much to write about this film but don't take that as a bad sign since this a pretty good movie. This is the kind of movie you rent on a Friday night with a bunch of friend and have fun watching (Hmm seems like we wrote this line before for another review). If you try to take this movie seriously you'll probably not like it one bit, this movie is good for anyone who can appreciate low budget humorous horror.

DVD [ NTSC, All Region ] :

The picture quality was average for a Hong Kong movie and the sound was surround 5.1. The extras include: A trailer of the movie, a trailer of another movie called [He's my enemy, partner and father-in-law], chapter selection and Cast and Crew info. At least this time the menu's were not that cheesy as the other Mei Ah releases.
