They rush the woman to the hospital as she is still alive, with luck they manage to save her life. Doctor Kwan leaves for the mainland to take care of his grandmothers funeral, when he returns home he meets up with the woman he help save (Faith). Kwan’s ex-girlfriend jealous of this new woman follows him around, she see ghosts and believe they are after Kwan. She ends up being possessed so Kwan and his friend hire a host of a TV show on the supernatural to try to cure her.

Review: This is basically a horror movie but not because it is scary but because of the theme of ghosts, in fact there is quite a bit of humour in the movie. We are not sure if most HK horror movies are like this but it is a great genre. I mentioned before that the movie is about ghosts, in Asian beliefs ghosts are very different. They are kind of like living people because you would not know if someone was a ghost (unless you see them in true form) but in the other hand like American myths ghosts can possess people. Follow the theme of ghosts is a good story, it is simple and down to earth. There is nothing complex to follow so you can sit down and enjoy.

The characters in this movie are good but there is no development of any sort. You are thrown into 2-3 days of their lives when things get a little spooky. What is good about the characters is the interactions between them and the humour that comes from it. We must mention the TV host was especially good, he played a similar character like in Troublesome Night. We don’t know if this guy actually has such a show in Hong Kong but we think he should, he is very good at it. This guy has a certain thing about being funny without actually trying or doing anything funny. The rest of the actors were good and played their parts well. The only people in the movie that kinda sucked were the true villains that only appear in the last 10 - 15 minutes of the movie. They just came and went.

This is not a horror movie in the traditional horror sense, there is no blood, guts or gore. Its not really scary, it is more amusing than anything else. There isn’t any action like in those high action packed movies but it is very fun to watch. The mix of comedy and the characters getting scared in the spooky settings are great. The special effects are not very elaborate, they are the same as other movie of this genre (Troublesome Night). Even without the Hollywood special effects this movie is far better than anything Hollywood can produce in the same style.

The subtitles were great and the text is not to long and simple. This is a good movie that is a lot of fun to watch, something that most people would enjoy. The movie is nothing special, nor something that you’ll see many times but it great for a night for a group of friends to get together and watch a good movie. We recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys Chinese ghosts and a little humour.

DVD [ NTSC, All Region ] :

The image quality was good, only some scratch in some scenes but nothing to be afraid of. As for the sound you got a good Dolby Digital sound. For the extra you only have the trailer of Love and Sex Of The Eastern Hollywood and Step Into The Dark. Of course, like most of the Mei Ah titles, a really bad menu design.
