and when Chin shows up the new police chief suspects
him of some wrong doing. Meanwhile a train filled with
wealthy passengers is headed near the town but a group
of robbers have their eye on what the train holds. Due
to some misfortune everyone end up in the small town,
the robbers, the passengers of the train, a bounty hunter,
the old police chief who robbed the town and some Japanese
guys. Chaos soon follows and Chin will try to save his
home town with some help from some unlikely sources.
Review: This film was not easy to categorize,
it had some incredible comedy, some excellent Kung
Fu and all around good action. So we decided to place
this film in both the comedy and Kung Fu sections.
The story was pretty original and unique, also the
chain of events have a real humorous twist to them.
The movie starts off as comedy and the action kicks
in near the end for a big finale.
A little side note for those who have seen the Drunken
Master I - II you will see cameo appearance from some
of the characters. The diversity of characters was
good, for the police to Japanese samurai, the Japanese
were especially good in their small role. There might
not have been to much attention put on the diverse
support characters but you had enough to get a good
taste of them. Sammo Hung was excellent in his role
both comedy and kung fu.
The comedy in this movie is typical chinese humour
so some people might not find it all that funny because
chinese humour is quite different from American humour,
Chinese humour is a bit comparable to British humor
so that should give you an idea. The subtitle were
big enough but the font was not so good... its readable
but annoying. It an excellent movie that will keep
you laughing from start to finish and will keep the
kung fu fans awake.
